If I were Henry, I would appoint a Sales Director to run the sales organization to win business and increase market share in our traditional segment. In the spirit that we only gain tomorrow by delivering today, the business needs volume to get beyond breakeven. I would appoint another individual to the role of new business development expressly to look at threats from disruption of our mail business, and how to mitigate, and opportunities enabled by technology but driven by customer/market trends for new products/services with good margin and growth prospects. This person would be charged with incubating and bring these new offers to market. Although I might be able to find someone to span both of these roles, I would rather split them.
