For me the central question is how to get the organization to come along on a change voyage without having a clear destination. I would start by using the Global Management Summit to give an analysis of the trends in the current business, while linking clear and tangible short term objectives that need to be achieved. This should satisfy those people who want SMART goals. I would then paint a broader picture of the developments in the media industry, highlighting the speed and unpredictability of the changes, necessitating us to remain agile and not set a strategy in stone. This presentation should outline BOLD goals and prepare people to be more willing to change without knowing the precise direction. Finally, I would invite a guest speaker to the summit from a different industry that had already gone through the changes facing the media industry, to inspire people to envision ways of going through the digital transformation.
